On May 8 the major South Korean airline company Korean Air Lines announced that it will operate charter flights between Incheon and Shimojishima from the Miyako Shimojishima Airport Terminal in Irabu, Miyakojima City. This will be the first international charter route operated out of this airport. Four round trips will take place between May 31 and June 9 with Korean tourists on board.
