An article of clothing has been found that could possibly be summer wear known as “Umansa,” and was gifted to the Ryukyu Kingdom by ancient China, the likes of which are not known to currently exist in Okinawa.

Masahiro Shuzo Co. Ltd. CEO Masakuni Higa purchased the clothing from an antique shop in Fukuoka about 10 years ago, and it along with 6 handwritten scrolls from the early modern Ryukyu era were donated to the Okinawa Churashima Foundation...
